The Isle of Wight archeological delights.

Off the South Coast of England just below Southampton and across a mile of water called the Solent you will find the Isle of Wight.

The island is a place full of histories from neolithic to modern times waiting to be uncovered and discovered. A place this rich in history is just waiting to be detected upon.

Estabilished in 2003 by our Hon. Chairman Mr Dave Clark who's passion for Metal Detecting has now expanded and grown into a club that now boasts over 40+ members.

We've had a lot of sucess in our finds and we've uncovered many hidden treasures that have laid hidden for thousands of years.

We work very closely with our local Archeological Centre and of course our local  FLO (Finds Liasion Officer) Mr Frank Basford when it comes to recording our finds. Several GPS units are carried on the field with us and all finds of importance or age are given their own GPS co-ordinates and collected or deliveried to the FLO.

All land owners are kept in the know with what we find and we do are upmost to respect their land at all times.

All members must be registered with FID (Federation of Independant Detectorist) or equivelent before they join our club and membership renewal is very strictly monitored. That means we all have full Public Liability insurance.
